Yoga is so underrated there are so many benefits from it just a few minutes per day. I have been doing yoga at least 3 times a weeks each session varies but I can truly see a difference in my flexibility and mental health. It is truly amazing what such a little thing can do to you for the better. Studies show that doing a yoga session for at least 30mins once a week for at least 4 years lower your BMI (body mass index). Yoga can also improve your body image and self esteem. It is more about the inner awareness rather than physical appearance. “Researchers studied a small group of sedentary individuals who had not practiced yoga before. After eight weeks of practicing yoga at least twice a week for a total of 180 minutes, participants had greater muscle strength and endurance, flexibility, and cardio-respiratory fitness.” This proves that doing yoga is beneficial in anyways and should be given a chance.
Yoga mats are not required but highly as it add slightly more cushion for your feet and allows you to not slip as much. Recently I bought a yoga block that was the best decision, I can now do the tree pose without falling. 😂😂
